Kyle Ankney, 33, has been indicted by a Barren County grand jury on first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and incest charges.
Ankney was arrested in July by Barren County sheriff’s deputies after a minor under 12 years old was interviewed by the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center in June and alleged that Ankney had sexually abused her for “approximately five months.” He confirmed the minor’s story to Barren County sheriff’s deputies in Allen County on July 2 but did not admit to “sexual contact” until July 9 at the Barren County Courthouse and later the sheriff’s office, his uniform citation states.
All three charges in the indictment feature “continuing course of conduct,” which implies that the unlawful act “was committed against the same person two or more times,” according to Kentucky statute.
His bond is set at $100,000 cash and he is to have no contact with the minor, according to his indictment. An arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
