Glasgow police will conduct traffic checkpoints during the month of September within the city limits.

Traffic safety checkpoints, which are “used to promote the safety and well-being of the public as well as providing police with visibility and interaction within the community,” will begin on Sept. 3 and last until the end of the month, Sept. 30.

“During the Safety Checkpoints, Officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations,” a Glasgow Police Department press release stated.

Checkpoint locations will be in the areas of Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road, though they will not strictly be limited to those areas, according to the release.
