Some members of the South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative will soon get to cast their vote for a representative of the board of trustees.

The Board of Trustees is comprised of seven districts, each of which represents a geographical area, and the board members handle “the business and affairs of the Corporation,” the bylaws stated.

Ballots for trustee elections will be mailed on Sept. 5 to those members in District V, which is the Temple Hill and Glasgow exchanges, according to SCRTC. For people in those exchanges will get to vote for either incumbent Kevin Bradshaw, Randy Meredith, or R. Cary Barrett Jr.

The term of office is three years, according to the bylaws.

All ballots must be signed by member and dated. All ballots must be returned by mail postmarked no later than Sept. 20, the cooperative stated. Election results will be announced in October at the Cave Area Convention Center.

The Canmer and Horse Cave exchanges will also have their ballots mailed out on Friday and will get to vote for incumbent Billy Smith or Robert Thompson.

Other people were nominated to represent different exchanges, however the cooperative’s bylaws state ballots shall only be sent “in districts where there is more than one nominee.”
