The Glasgow Public Square will be a hub of activity over the next few days, which means traffic patterns will be impacted.
On Sept. 6 is the First Responders Ball that begins at 7 p.m. Due to this event, the north side of the square — the side in front of the clerk’s office — will close at 4 p.m., according to Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Terry Flatt. The semi-formal, private First Responders Ball will have food, dancing and live entertainment provided by the No Deposit Band and will last until roughly 9 p.m.
The next day, Sunday, Sept. 7, the north, east and west sides of the square will close at 1 p.m. due to the community band concert, which was rescheduled from the original June 24 date because of a heat advisory.
On Monday, Sept. 8, the north side of the square will be closed at 4 p.m. for the Thank a Farmer event scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
“Please use caution if you travel in this area,” a police department press release stated.
