Thomas H. ‘Tommy’ Ferguson, Glasgow

Thomas H. “Tommy” Ferguson, 74, Glasgow, died Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. A native of Clinton County, he was the son of the late Douglas and Jimmie Alice Gist Ferguson.

Tommy was a devoted Christian and a member of the Bethel Independent Baptist Church. He was a retired employee in the bindery department at R R Donnelley & Sons. He was an avid fisherman being a member of the Donnelley Bass Club and the Glasgow Bass Club as well as former owner of Captain Hogan’s Bait Shop. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and being with his sons. He could also be listed as a hobbyist and an inventor; he held the patent for his invention of “Tommy Bars” for motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Riddle Ferguson; two sons, Eric Thomas Ferguson and his wife Stefanie of Alvaton, and Nathan Douglas Ferguson and his fiancée Katy Furlong of Glasgow; one grandson, Mason Ferguson; one sister-in-law, Margie Lowhorn; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister June Lee Melton.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
