A Park City man charged in an organized theft from Lowe’s and attempted murder in Monroe County remains in the Barren County Detention Center.
Caleb McClellan, 20, of Park City, and Isaac Logsdon, 23, of Glasgow, are both charged in a stolen merchandise scheme from Lowe’s, and McClellan is also charged in a shooting in Tompkinsville. McClellan remains in jail on a $250,000 bond for the shooting and an additional $25,000 bond for the theft.
The theft case began when Glasgow police received information that an employee at Lowe’s, who was Logsdon, was “pushing out” appliances from the store over the course of several months, according to a uniform citation. Officers say Lowe’s discovered the merchandise to be valued at $60,000, and there were 22 instances of merchandise theft.
Detectives say that several “new” refrigerators were found while investigating McClellan’s Facebook page.
Police conducted a search warrant of Logsdon’s home on Trista Lane in Glasgow where four refrigerators were recovered, along with a small bag of suspected marijuana. The refrigerators were suspected of being stolen from Lowe’s.
Logsdon was arrested and taken to the Barren County Detention Center. McClellan was already in jail on charges of attempted murder. Both were charged with theft by unlawful taking above $10,000 and less than $1 million. They were also each charged with acquisition of retail merchandise for resale, according to the citation. Logsdon was also charged with possession of marijuana.
McClellan had only been in jail a few hours before being handed the charges related to the theft. He had been arrested and charged with attempted murder in Monroe County.
McClellan was a passenger in a vehicle just after midnight on Sept. 9 and allegedly fired a pistol at another vehicle with people inside, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was struck once, and no injuries were reported.
Later, an officer conducted an unrelated traffic stop on the vehicle occupied by McClellan. He was in the back seat. Officers say a 9mm pistol was located in the vehicle.
A warrant for McClellan’s arrest on the charge of attempted murder was issued the same morning. He was later arrested in Park City by state police and lodged in the Barren County jail.
