A man indicted by a Barren County grand jury earlier in 2025 has also been indicted in federal court.
In February, Bobby Wayne Johnson was arrested after fleeing from Kentucky State Police troopers on 17 charges. The Cave City man was then indicted by a Barren County grand jury on 14 charges, including two first-degree wanton endangerment counts, on April 4. Both his 2024 and 2025 criminal cases have a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.
In addition to those local cases, Johnson was also indicted in the Western District of Kentucky on two counts of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine on Aug. 23 and on Aug. 26 of 2024 while in Barren County.
His federal case was sealed on Aug. 13 and was unsealed on the same day of his arrest, which was Sept. 24.
At his arraignment, he entered into a not-guilty plea and further proceedings were set for Oct. 16 at 2:10 p.m. He also waived his detention hearing, meaning he will remain in U.S. Marshal custody for the foreseeable future.
