The Glasgow City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 27, with several first readings and resolutions on the agenda. The meeting will begin with the swearing-in and pinning of new firefighters, recognizing recent additions to the Glasgow Fire Department.
New business includes a first reading of an ordinance amending the city’s annual budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, specifically addressing the Glasgow Police and Fire departments. Council members will also consider two zoning changes, one involving 7.5 acres along West Main Street and Rogers Road, and another on West Cherry Street, both seeking to reclassify property for business use.
A proposed resolution would authorize the issuance of up to $65 million in industrial building revenue bonds to support Tate, Inc. in the development and operation of an industrial facility. Another resolution would update city banking authorizations, allowing City Treasurer Victoria Simmons to open new accounts on behalf of the city.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Glasgow City Hall.
