Two Glasgow men have been arrested on drug-related charges after a traffic stop over the weekend.
Charles Ballard and Nathaniel McCandless were arrested by Glasgow police when police sergeant Jeff Childress stop their vehicle on New Salem Road and smelled marijuana coming from inside, according to a Glasgow police press release.
“Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located marijuana in the center of the vehicle,” the release stated. “Officers also located a 9mm handgun.”
Ballard was charged with first-degree possession of methamphetamine (second offense), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and obstructed vision and/or windshield, according to the release.
McCandless was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree possession of methamphetamine (first offense).
Both men are lodged in the Barren County Detention Center; Ballard has a $5,000 cash bond and McCandless has a $2,500 cash bond.
