The Barren County school district is selling a small piece of property to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for $61,950.
The sale of the 0.17-acres property was finalized during the district’s finance corporation meeting on Feb. 12. The property, which is located across Ky. 1297 from Bluegrass Ingredients, and adjacent to Red Cross Elementary’s baseball fields, will give the cabinet increased right-of-way for the upcoming Ky. 1297 widening project.
Key points of the sale include the removal of an existing fence and construction of a new one by the transportation cabinet.
