A Glasgow man accused of murder and fetal homicide has a court appearance scheduled for next week.

Barren County District Judge Gabe Pendleton set Brandon Bond’s preliminary hearing for April 16 at 1 p.m. Bond was visibly crying when he made his initial court appearance via Zoom Wednesday morning from the Barren County Detention Center.

Bond is charged with murder (domestic violence), first-degree fetal homicide and first-degree fleeing or evading police. He allegedly shot 22-year-old Ava Woodcock in her vehicle on Cleveland Avenue on Monday, April 6. He fled the scene and was arrested in a wooded area near Mid-State Recycling roughly 30 minutes after the shooting, according to his uniform citation.

His charges were upgraded after Woodcock and her unborn child died at the University of Louisville Hospital on Tuesday morning, according to Glasgow police.

He is also charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, Pendleton said.

Pendleton, in light of the new charges, raised his bond to $2 million cash.

“She was a good mom,” said Woodcock’s biological mother Amanda Eversole after the arraignment Wednesday. “I didn’t get enough time with her. She didn’t even get to live her life; she didn’t get to enjoy her children. Everyone is here for her and I hope she knows that.”

“He killed two people,” she added. “It’s just a hard time.”
