Stanley Chapman Sr.

Stanley Chapman Sr., 74, of Glasgow died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Morgantown Health and Rehab. He was a son of the late William “Bill” Chapman and Mary Elizabeth Emmitt Chapman. He was retired from Southern Explosives.
He is survived by one son, Stanley Chapman Jr.; two grandsons, Tyler Chapman ( Charity) and Hunter Chapman (Roselee); one stepdaughter, Shelly; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Chapman (Joan), and Ricky Chapman (Barbara); three sisters, Geneva Riddle, Virginia Jones (Charles) and Mayola Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katrina Chapman; six brothers, Henry Chapman, Cecil Chapman, Earl Chapman, Murrell Chapman, William Terry Chapman and Edward Brown; seven sisters, Jewell Vaughn, Frankie Wooten, Loretta Pedigo, Martha Jane Wooten, Lou Ann England, Mary Abney and Ethel Morgan.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation began Monday evening and continues from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Raymond Lee Harper, 75, of Glasgow died Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Glasgow to the late Robert Harper and Winnie Smith Harper. Raymond was a custodian of South Green Elementary School for 12 years and loved working with the children. He also loved astronomy, building telescopes, woodworking and, most of all, his family. Raymond was a devoted member of Glasgow Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael Harper; one daughter, Marsha Walker (Stacy); two grandchildren, Cassady Lorenzo (Cameron) and Trevor Walker (Raelynn); four great-grandchildren, Adelina Lorenzo, Laketon Lorenzo, Tatum Walker and Sutton Walker; one sister, Maxine Ogles (Russy); one brother, Wayne Harper (Vivian); one sister-in-law, Carolyn Harper; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Harper; one sister, Lois Whitley (Cliff); and one brother, Buddy Harper.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
