Anita M. Branham

Anita M. Branham of Lynnwood, Washington, died peacefully the evening of Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. She was born on April 22, 1953, in Glasgow. She grew up in Austin and spent most of her adult life in Bowling Green, before moving to the Seattle, Washington, area in 2018.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Lawrence (Jeff Willner), and grandchildren Theodore and Charlie Willner, all of Seattle; brother, Larry Branham of Frankfort; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Branham; mother, Thelma Bush Branham; brother, Wayne Branham; beloved nephew, Kevin Branham; and her cherished dog companions, Baxter, Bailey and Larivee.
A celebration of Anita’s life will be planned for next year in the Bowling Green area. Donations in her memory may be made to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.

C.D. Church

C.D. Church, 92, of Cave City died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at The Medical Center at Caverna. The Luxora, Arkansas, native was born Feb. 23, 1931, to the late Frank Roy and Lilly Dhority Church. He was married to his beloved wife of 69 years, Helen Miller Church, who survives.
C.D. served our country in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement from the military, he started working at Mammoth Cave National Park. While he was there, he worked in maintenance, ran the Mammoth Cave Ferry and later retired. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and of the Christian faith.
C.D. enjoyed being around people. He could be found at many community gatherings and always had a good story to tell. His quick wit was always enjoyed by those with whom he shared his stories and laughter.
Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory his sons, Steven Church, Randall Kevin Church (Mary Ann), Perry Church (Maria) and Russell Church; son-in-law, Tony O’Malley; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy O’Malley.
No services are scheduled at this time. Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

Charles R. Hayes, 83, of Sweeden died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born Oct. 21, 1940, to the late Raymond W. and Maxine Ashley Hayes. He was married for 65 years to his devoted, loving wife, Marilyn Davis Hayes, who survives.
Charles founded Hayes Insurance Agency in Brownsville, Glasgow and Elizabethtown, where he served his community for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory his children, Danny Hayes (Pat) of Brownsville, Jeff Hayes of Brownsville and Anna Leigh Hayes of Sweeden; grandchildren, Ray Smith (Emily), Lindsay Mencer, Nick Smith (Toni), Lauren Black (Josh), Noah Powell, Leilani Powell, Lake Powell, River Powell and Ella Mae Powell; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Priddy and Alan Hayes.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel, with interment in Sweeden Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.

Cindy Kay Stroup, 54, of Glasgow died suddenly Dec. 10, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
She is survived by her father, Milton Freeman; her fiancé, Leonard Blessing Jr.; six children, Brianna Storey (Antonio), Brittany Storey, Joshua Sullivan, Ashley Cox, Matthew Cox and Timothy Stroup; and four grandchildren, Adrianna Paxton, Miya Folz, Brentlee Storey and Caleb Cox.
Cremation was chosen. No services are scheduled at this time. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
