Mary Lynn Dickinson, 81, of Glasgow died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, at Barren County Health & Rehab Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late William and Lavece Carr Ganter Dickinson.
Mary Lynn had many talents, including being a professional baker and an accomplished musician. After learning to play the mandolin, she taught herself to play guitar and was a member of the Squeaky Clean Jug Band. One of her well-known accomplishments was being the baker who made the beloved Angel Biscuits at Bolton’s Landing in Glasgow. She was a devoted bird watcher and a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the sanctuary choir. In later years after retirement, she devoted her life to caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Monica Lynn Schultz (Frank) of Glasgow and Mary Hannah Austin (David) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Wes Buchanan, Forrest Buchanan, Lavece Buchanan, James Buchanan, Heather Polin (Kyle), Susan Reece, Rebecca White (Quentel Bradley) and Alexander Austin; two sisters, Georgia Lew Peterson (Butch) and Katie Jo Napier (Bobby); one sister-in-law, Suetta Dickinson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Susan Buchanan; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Alicia Buchanan; one sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Brents Carsner; and one brother, Bartlett Dickinson.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.

Linda Faye Houchens Hill, 63, of Summer Shade died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023. Born Nov. 4, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Emil Morgan Houchens and Jessie Guy Smith Houchens.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Hill; three children, Kristie Ferguson (Brad) of Glasgow, Candace Hutton (Michael) of Edmonton and Jessicka Birge of Summer Shade; grandchildren, Cody Birge, J.J. Walters, Shyanne Garmon, Dalton Garmon, Jaelynn Ferguson, Sky Turner, Mason Ferguson, Jaxon Ferguson, Gavyn Hutton, Madison Estes (Preston), Mayson Hutton, Brynlee Hutton, Rylan Hutton, Levi Pedigo, Desiray Pedigo and Bentley Pedigo; six brothers, Eugene Houchens (Louise), William Earl Houchens, Roger Houchens, Donnie Houchens (Penny), Wendell Houchens (Anita) and Billy Houchens (Frances); one sister, Patty Wilson; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Houchens and Franklin Houchens; one sister, Rosie Steenbergen; and her puppies, Poppie and Mella.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery in Scottsville. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
