Elvin Borders
Elvin Borders, 81, Glasgow died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at his residence. Born Jan. 30, 1942, at Railton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Edna Mutter Borders. He was a farmer and a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Dana Salley and husband Rusty, and Michele Ellis and husband William Jr.; six grandchildren, Natasha Smith (Christopher), Benjamin Borders (Ashley), Alyce Henry (David), Brooke Holman (Sidney), Logan Ellis and Lauren White (Patrick); one sister, June Meador; 14 great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Trandall Borders and his wife Jackie, and one sister, Andrea Kinslow.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sandra McClellan, 80, of Glasgow died Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell McClellan, in September 2023.
She worked for many years at Canteen in R.R. Donnelley & Sons and later at Ralphie’s Fun Center.
She is survived by four daughters, Lavada (Tom) Meeks, Sam (Jim) Czoer, Shelly (Kenny) Thomas and Kim (Randy) Sherrill; two sons, Kenny (Jacquie) Brown and and Steve Brown; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Greg) Meeks, Clayton (Suzanne) Meeks, Amanda (Jason) Hale, Amber (Danny) Garcia, Ryan (Angie) Bond, Rikki Bond, Cameron (Sydney) Brown, Terry David (Bethany) Hawk, Billy (Monica) Mowery, Kaley (Thad) Billingsley, Mason Dunbar and Shelby Brown, Faylee (Connor) Cassady and Savannah (Xavier) Brown; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild plus another on the way; two sisters, Nancy (Earl) Newberry and Jo Ann Hector; one brother, Bill (Jill) Lobb; a brother in-law, William (Carolyn) McCellan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Brown; her parents; and additional siblings.
Funeral service is at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
‘Nan’ Raymer
Nanette “Nan” Doyle Raymer, 50, of Cave City died peacefully Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. The Barren County native was born Sept. 3, 1973, to the late Royndal Thomas Doyle and Shirley Smith Doyle, who survives.
Nan was a member of Basil Chapel United Baptist Church. She was a 1991 graduate of Caverna High School and went on to receive her master’s degree from Western Kentucky University. She was a member of the Kentucky Education Association as well as the Kentucky Music Educators Association. She shared her musical talents with the children of Edmonson and Barren counties. In recent years, she taught art and music at Kyrock Elementary School.
Besides her mother, she leaves to honor her memory her beloved sons, Ben, Blake and Bryce Raymer, all of Sweeden; her sisters, Theresa Jones (David) of Horse Cave and Marcia Payne (Tommy) of Bon Ayr; an aunt, Doris Ward; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members whom she adored.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie and Beulah Doyle and Leonard and Pearlie Smith.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel, with interment in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
