On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Glasgow Police Department responded to Sheila Drive in reference to an injury crash.

It was determined that a 2022 Lincoln, operated by Hunter Vann, was traveling northbound on Sheila Drive while fleeing from police. The vehicle apparently ran off the left side of the roadway and collided with a tree at approximately 10:40 a.m.

According to Ron Lafferty, director of the Barren River Drug Task Force, Vann sped up once he noticed his car was being followed by members of the task force and took them on a “short pursuit” when he crashed into the tree. Lafferty confirmed the task force executed a search warrant on Vann’s vehicle, but would not comment regarding the results of the search as the investigation is ongoing.

Vann was transported to T J Samson Community Hospital by the Barren/Metcalfe EMS for his injuries. No other injuries were reported. Lafferty said Vann was flown to Louisville with “non-life threatening injuries.” Lafferty said as of Feb. 2 no charges had been file against Vann as he is in the hospital.

The crash was investigated by Sgt. Mason Wethington, who was assisted by the Barren River Drug Task Force detectives.
