Jo Brent Strader Elmore, 71, of Glasgow died suddenly Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Hiseville, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Georgia Brent Wells Strader.
Jo Brent was a graduate of Hiseville High School who in recent years worked as bookkeeper for Elmore Realty & Auction. She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church. She enjoyed horseback riding, playing golf and cooking. Her greatest emphasis in life was her family; she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband, John Ray Elmore; children, Daniel Brent Johnson (Amy), Rhonda Townsend (Charles), Michael Ray Elmore (Lisa) and Mark Richard Elmore (Jean); grandchildren, Dakota Elmore (Mandy), Ashton Mattingly (Jared), Morgan Geiger (Wick), Owen Margaret Kruse (Augie), Oliver Townsend, Micha Thomas (Jake), Olivia Johnson, Addison Johnson, Mason Johnson, Byron Reynolds, Chloe Johnson and Griffin Reynolds; her sister, Anne Bruce Botts (Carlton); her three nephews, John Botts, Jimmy Botts and Jeff Botts; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Bradley Johnson.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hiseville Cemetery.

James Wayne Honeycutt, 78, of Cave City died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Metcalfe Health Care Center. Born in Albany, he was a son of the late Oscar and Dorothy Neal Honeycutt. He was a retired farmer, a member of the House of Prayer in Edmonton, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing all the while dearly loving his family.
Survivors include four children, Derek Honeycutt, Brad Honeycutt (Jeni), Tony Honeycutt (Regina) and Julie Kinnaird (Kimberly); three sisters, Doris Lawrence, Jane Weaver and Mary Johnson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Joyce Neal Honeycutt; three brothers, Edward Honeycutt, Eugene Honeycutt and Billy Honeycutt; and three sisters, Rose Pemberton, Sue Riddle and Carolyn Hale.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sharon Ernestine Jackson, 67, of Glasgow died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at her sister’s home. She was born Jan. 22, 1957, in Barren County to the late Paul Garnett Jackson and Verla Wanda Overfelt Jackson. Sharon retired from ACK Controls as a forklift driver and was a lifetime member of Boyd’s Creek Church. Sharon loved the outdoors, specifically showing horses, fishing and riding her side-by-side. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include her siblings, Paulette Vance (George), Nancy Berryman, Ernest Jackson (Charlene), Vickie Jackson and Phyllis Mckinney (Stoney); and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carl David Jackson; one niece, Christina Jackson; one great-nephew, Josh Burkett; and one brother-in-law, Allen Berryman.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Bowles Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continues Monday morning at the funeral home.
The family extends a special thank you to John, Tabatha and T.J. Samson Hospice for their kindness in this difficult time.

Alveda “Tete” Jessie, 80, of Cave City died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, from injuries in an automobile accident. Born in Hiseville, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Magdalene Eudy Byrd. She had previously worked as a stocker at Phillips Market and later was employed at Glenview Health Care Center, from which she retired.
Survivors include two children, Gary Jessie (Loretta) and Jan Hishmeh (Alfred); three grandchildren, Amanda Jones (Dustin), Josh Jessie (Mary Lou) and Kyle Hishmeh (Makayla); three great-grandchildren, Shea Jones, Payton Jessie and John Jessie; two loving fur babies, Benji and Bella; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight sisters, Jenny Scott, Ruby Garmon, Susie Ennis, Emma Ballard, Mary Ballard, Ann Honeycutt, Betty Stephens and Lou Wilson; and five brothers, Harold Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Don Byrd, Bud Byrd and James Jones.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
