PRESS RELEASE
Glasgow News 1
Around 5 a.m. Eastern Time this morning, KOHS & the 911 Services Board were made aware of cellular service issues in Kentucky.
We have since learned that this is a nationwide issue, with cellular phone service outages being reported across the country. It is important to note that while outages have been reported in several areas of the US, the country is not experiencing a systemwide failure.
The problem is being reported across all three major carriers, with AT&T experiencing most of the issues.
This may impact the ability of the public to reach 9-1-1.
Please do not call 9-1-1 to see if your phone is working. If you attempt to call for a real time emergency and fails, go to your closest landline phone. In the chance that does not work due to this outage please utilize the non-emergency number that’s call into the center on a different set of lines.
