Beginning next week Barren County will offer its residence an opportunity to easily dispose of their larger waste items.
From Monday, March 25, to Friday, March 29, county employees and their trucks will be at eight locations throughout the county with dumpsters. The locations include Pro Solution, Mill Street Property in Hiseville on Monday, Park City and Cave City Volunteer Fire Departments on Tuesday, East Barren VFD on Wednesday, Austin Tracy VFD and the Barren County Road Department on Thursday. Temple Hill Fairgrounds and the headquarter station on Steam Mill Road of South Barren VFD will be on Friday.
On the appropriate day the locations will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appliances, couches, dressers, mattresses and recliners will be accepted as will small items provided that they are boxed or bagged. Such items like batteries, liquids, paint, oil and pesticides will not be accepted nor will tires as that collection is scheduled for three days in May.
“Barren County is proud to participate in the County Wide Cleanup Week once again to help clean up our county and do our part in keeping the commonwealth clean,” Barren County posted on social media.
This is a free service provided to all county citizens.
