On Wednesday, March 27, the Barren County Family YMCA is hosting a Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the small gym next to the kid’s maze. This free event is open to members and non-members.
“We will have everything from health and wellness screenings to discussions on phone scams, which are very popular now, especially with seniors,” said Community Outreach Director Libby Pruitt Short.
After the start of the event, the Silver Sneakers program will occur as normal from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the large gym.
“We have such a vibrant senior community here at the Y. It’s nothing for us to have 90 to 100 seniors in our Senior Silver Sneakers class on Mondays and Wednesdays. It’s very inspiring,” Pruitt said.
Seniors in the 60 miles per hour club will be provided a free lunch in the new “The Empowering Youth Academy” wing at 11 a.m.
