Section of Oil Well Road closed until further notice

Oil Well Road, the road that runs south of Glasgow and that is east of the Lucas community, will be closed at Peter’s Creek Bridge while repairs are made to a section of the roadway that was washed out during the bout of heavy rain and storms that came through the region Tuesday afternoon.

According to Wes Watt, public information officer with district 3 of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Oil Well Road, also known as KY 3179, falls in with the numerous other state roads and, in a press release, advised people driving that roadway to take alternate paths.

“The closure is expected to be long-term due to the damage caused by the flooding,” the release stated.
