In the wake of the bouts of severe weather that marched across the commonwealth last night, May 8, a portion of Old Munfordville Road — a road that runs north of Glasgow — is closed due to the high level of water on the roadway.

Jim McGowen, director of Public Works for the city of Glasgow, said that due to the excessive water Old Munfordville Road from the Veterans Outer Loop to the country club will be closed until further notice.

“Old Munfordville Road will remain closed due to high water,” McGowen stated via phone. “Department of Public Work [crews] will further evaluate later today.”

Other than that McGowen said the department is “cleaning up a few tree limbs.”

Glasgow News 1 has attempted to call the county road department and, at the time of publication, has not been able to reach them. This article will be updated with county information as it becomes available.
