Joy Ann (Haydon) Gossett, 90, of Cave City died peacefully at her home on Saturday May 18, 2024. She was born Dec. 23, 1933, to the late Franklin and Ruby Haydon of Park City. Joy graduated from Park City High School. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a housewife, and when she was younger, she enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and vegetable gardening. Listening to music was one of her favorite things to do. Gospel music was usually playing on the radio in the kitchen. In her later years, she watched gospel music shows every Saturday and Sunday on TV. She was a great cook and made the best butterscotch pie, blackberry cobbler and fried pies. Cooking for workhands on the farm kept her busy in the summertime. Helping others was something she was always willing to do, and many people came to her for a helping hand.
For many years, Little Bethel Baptist Church was her home church where she played piano and taught VBS and Sunday school. Later she became a member of Barren County Baptist Church. As a devout Christian, she will be missed by her community.
She is survived by three children, Jimmie Gossett and wife Brenda of Cave City, Larry Gossett and wife Debbie of Cave City, and Lisa Werenskjold and husband Eric of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Dusty Gossett, Halie Thomas and husband Ben, and Jordan Gossett and wife Scarlett; and seven great-grandchildren, Jonah, Addie, Tate and Ruie Thomas, Hayden and William Gossett, and Kemble Gossett; and two younger brothers, Carl Haydon and wife Daisy of Cave City and Danny Haydon and wife Judy of Cleveland, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Gossett, and her oldest brother, Kenneth Haydon.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 21, 2024, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, with Bro. Bobby Wood officiating and interment in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Dusty Gossett, Jordan Gossett, Ben Thomas, Eric Werenskjold, Kim Gossett, Adrian Gossett and Hayden Gossett, and honorary pallbearers are Kevin Haydon, Jonah Thomas, Tate Thomas, William Gossett, John Gentry, Gary Scott and Steve Ray.

Eddie Mae Jackson of Glasgow, a daughter of the late John Goad and Maggie Vance Goad, was born on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1938, in Barren County and died on Saturday, May 18, 2024. She was 85 years, 5 months and 4 days of age. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Grider Memorial Baptist Church in Glasgow and was retired from S.K.F. in Glasgow. She loved her plastic canvas, crafts, camping and her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Addus Jackson of Glasgow, having united in marriage on June 25, 1960, and remaining married 63 years, 10 months and 23 days. Other survivors include two daughters, Charlene and son-in-law Larry Shaw of Glasgow, Kathy and son-in-law Johnny Mayes of Glasgow, and one son Steven and daughter-in-law Jamie Jackson of Knob Lick;
seven grandchildren, Eli Mayes, Cory Shaw, Brooklyn Jackson and Aaron Jackson, all of Glasgow, Maegan Dillman of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Dylan Jackson and Lily Jackson, both of Knob Lick; seven great-grandchildren, Ava Mayes, Mason Mayes, Bridget Shaw, Brayden Shaw, Braxton Shaw, Patrick Dillman and Kash Jackson; one great-great-grandchild, Sterling Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Runyon, Katherine Gibson, Evelyeen LaMaster, Elnora Huff and Sarah Robertson, and three brothers, Johnny Goad, Thomas Carl (T.C.) Goad and William Goad.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Delzia Mae Wiley, 93, of Summer Shade died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Monroe County on Dec. 2, 1930, to the late Leo Frazier and the late Minnie (Waller) Frazier. She was a farmer and housewife who loved spending time working in her flowers and spending time with her family. Mrs. Wiley was a member of Union No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to her late husband, Harley Wiley, for 71 years.
She is survived by her son, Steve Wiley (Stacy); grandchildren, Michael McMillian (Toni), Amber Hodges (Chuck), Calvin Wiley and Millie Westbrook (Landon); great-grandchildren, Paige Simpson (Hunter), Nate Simpson (Ashleigh), Emma Emberton Westbrook, Gabe Hodges and Wiley Westbrook; and son-in-law, Mike McMillian.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Wiley McMillian; two sons, Harold Wayne Wiley and Dannie Wiley; and siblings, Barlow Frazier, Cliff Frazier, Huey Frazier, Agnes Chandler, Ruby Davis, Ruth Garmon and Mattie Smith.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in the Union No. 2 Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues Thursday morning until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
