Petco prepares to open Glasgow farm and pet supply store

Petco aims to open its fourth Neighborhood Farm & Pet Supply location in Glasgow on Dec. 16.
The new 10,900-square-foot store is positioned at 141 Beaver Trail South, visible from Happy Valley Road at Veterans Outer Loop. The company plans is to employ 10 to 15 people at the location, and as of this week, all hires were new to Petco with the exception of the general manager.
To better serve animals in small-town and rural communities and as part of Petco’s mission to support the health and wellness of all pets, the company plans for its new pet care center here to bring unique offerings for both pet parents and farm animal caregivers, including high-quality nutrition, a curated farm and feed assortment, companion animals, vet clinics, self-wash stations and more, according to a media notice from the company.
To commemorate this milestone and introduce the community to its offerings, Petco is inviting families, pet parents and pets to join the grand opening and Petco FamilyFest, which include activities for the whole family Dec. 16 and 17.
Grand Opening Day includes an 8 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony with Petco executives and local Petco pet care center leadership, a live radio broadcast from 3 to 5 p.m. on WOVO-FM, and prize giveaways for customers.
The FamilyFest features a pet portrait studio, lawn games, food trucks, pet adoptions, dog training demonstrations, a DJ and music, prizes, and a Petco Love check presentation to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association.
The store has expanded offerings tailored to rural and small-town communities In addition to pet health and wellness products, high-quality nutrition, and services, the new location will offer:
• Live companion animals and an expanded companion animal product assortment,
• Curated farm and feed assortment for horses, goats, pigs, sheep and cows, as well as treats for all species,
• Chicken and waterfowl feed, treats, feeders and waterers,
• Large items such as chicken coops, stock tanks, large feeders and water troughs,
• Pest control supplies including fly spray and traps and horsefly masks,
• Vaccines for livestock and horses,
• Bulk hay, equine supplies and livestock equipment,
• Self-wash stations,
• Pet adoption events, and
• Mobile veterinary services.
Pet parents will have access to Petco’s differentiated digital fulfilment offerings, including same-day delivery; buy online, pickup in store; and curbside pickup.
Store hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays, according to the media notice.
