Portions of the Glasgow Public Square, along with some adjoining streets, are set to be closed on Friday, May 24, according to a release from the Glasgow Police Department.
The release specifies that the east side of the downtown square will be closed from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. with the north and south sides closing at 3 p.m.
The planned closure, both the closure beginning at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., is due to an upcoming concert on the square that is part of Entertain Glasgow’s summer concert series. Drake White is set to perform at this free concert beginning at 7 p.m.
Also on May 24 at 6 p.m. is the 24th annual “Dancing through the Bluegrass” recital hosted by the Plaza Theatre. That event is also happening the following day at 11 a.m.
Finally, May 24 is also the date set for the Glasgow High School graduation ceremony beginning at 7 p.m.
With all these Friday events occurring in more-or-less simultaneously the police department advises caution and to “allow [for] evtra travel times” when traversing through these areas.
