Margaret Katherine Bellamy, 93, of Glasgow died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Barren County Health & Rehab Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Maggie Bridges Powell.
Katherine was a graduate of Austin Tracy High School and the widow of the late Thomas “Tommy” Elmore Bellamy. She retired as an insurance clerk from T.J. Samson Community Hospital and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Tommie Kaye Thomas and husband Randy of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Josh Thomas (Aundi), Ben Thomas (Halie) and Amanda Meek (Casey); 11 grandchildren, Conlee, Jase, Leigha, Kate, Trapper, Ava, Lacey, Jonah, Addie, Tate and Ruie; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Jordan; and five brothers, Carl, Earl, Billy Joe, Wendell and Botts Powell.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Barren County Health & Rehab Center for their dedicated service and care given to Katherine.
In keeping with her request, Katherine’s family plans to have a private service and requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in her honor to the Refuge Cemetery, c/o Jason Chenoweth, P.O. Box 1382, Glasgow KY 42142-1382. Arrangements are entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Wanda Lynn Pedigo, 60, of Glasgow died Friday, May 24, 2024, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. A native of California, she was the daughter of Ann Compagnon and Col. Hughie Richard Pedigo.
Lynn was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was an interior decorator and architectural designer. She was a former member of the board of directors of the Kentucky Horse Park.
Survivors include her mother, Ann Pedigo; three brothers, Hughie Pedigo, Derek Pedigo (Lori) and Jeff Pedigo; six nieces and nephews, Brandy Pedigo, Brooklyn Pedigo, Morgan Pedigo Eatmon, Zebulon Pedigo, Bailey Pedigo and Briar Pedigo; three aunts, Sue Pedigo, Shirley Saunders and Emily Cooper; one uncle, Billy Cooper; two special first cousins, Wayne Pedigo (Julie) and Don Pedigo (Cathy).
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital or Kosair for Kids.

John Vance
John William Vance, 77, of Glasgow died Friday, May 24, 2024, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late William Smith Vance and Mary Maxine Rouse Vance.
John worked many years in the concrete business and was a former assistant manager at IMI concrete. In recent years, he was an employee of Glasgow Prescription Center’s durable medical equipment department. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the Big Red One, with which he served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was later awarded a Bronze Star for heroism. He recently professed his faith in Christ and was saved at Rolling Hills United Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; seven children, Schelly Vance, Beth Walden (J.D.), Johnny Vance (Laura), Shane Vance (Stacy), Brandon Vance (Amanda) and Tonya Vincent, all of Glasgow, and Drew Saltsman of Hiseville; 13 grandchildren, Ben Payne, Jesse Payne, Mary Kate Vance, Grady Vance, McKenzie Largent, Kayleigh Vance, Landon Vance, Chase Vincent, Abbie Rhinehart, Chandler Saltsman, Kaleb Saltsman, Logan Walden and Hunter Walden; one brother, James Harvey Vance (Terri) of Lexington; one aunt, Joyce Hood (Dascal) of Alvaton; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Alexander of Glasgow and Faye Neely of Cookeville, Tennessee; and a nephew, Michael Eugene Cox II.
The family offers special thanks to T.J. Samson Hospice for the great care extended to John over the last month.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial with military honors by DAV Chapter 20 in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday and continues Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home or a favorite charity.
