Honey’s Coffee Co., soon to open The Hive Coffee & Bakehouse in downtown Glasgow in partnership with Wild Flours Bake Shop, is excited to announce the launch of a new coffee-based initiative called Community Coffee Connection. This initiative was inspired by a special set up in downtown Glasgow for the annual Christmas parade last year where 100 percent of profits were donated to the Community Relief Fund.

“We always knew we wanted Honey (our coffee camper) to be a community partner. It was such a joy to contribute to the Community Relief Fund last winter and inevitable that these types of events would become a regular initiative for us,” said Savannah White, co-owner of Honey’s Coffee Co. and owner of Studio 22 Marketing, a title sponsor. “While we are excited to open our brick-and-mortar location by the end of the year, we plan to keep Honey on the road as a means for community outreach.”

Honey’s Coffee is a mobile coffee shop serving ethically and sustainably sourced coffee from a vintage camper in South Central Kentucky. The first initiative under the Community Coffee Connection will take place on June 14th. Honey’s Coffee Co. will team up with other local coffee shops in Glasgow and Barren County to raise funds for the Community Relief Fund. Participating shops — including Southern Cup Coffee & Cafe, Fine Arts Bistro, Scooters Coffee, Ace Coffee Co. and other community partners with barista experience — will send baristas to work together at Honey’s.

“I think it’s incredibly special to see all of us coming together- all coffee shops, essentially doing the same if not similar things for a living to support our community,” said Danielle Certain, owner of Wild Flours Bake Shop and co-owner of The Hive Coffee & Bakehouse.

The event will be held at the Marshall’s parking lot in Glasgow on Friday, June 14th, from 7 AM to 1 PM. 100 percent of profits will be donated to the Community Relief Fund. A special menu will be released soon.

“We want to thank Larry Glass and the Barren River Plaza Project for allowing us to use the parking lot for setup,” added Mikey White, co-owner of Honey’s Coffee Co.

If you are interested in sponsoring this event or if you know of a community outreach project that could use support, please contact Honey’s Coffee Co. directly at honeyscoffeeco@gmail.com. Come on Friday, June 14th to get a great cup of coffee from your favorite local baristas and contribute to a worthy cause.
