OBITUARY: Betty ‘Betty Bette’ Lou Wallace

Betty “Betty Bette” Lou (Horton) Wallace, age 88, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

She was born July 2, 1935, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Charlie A. Horton and the late Edna (Bowles) Horton. Betty was a lifetime entrepreneur who wore so many hats in her community. Over Betty’s life she was a small business owner of several grocery stores, customer service manager at Wal-Mart, she started “Southern Cup Café”, and many knew her as “Betty Bette” from the local trader on 101.7 WLOC. Betty was the perfect example of the meaning of living life to the fullest and her charismatic charm always spilled to everyone around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and being a part of the “Red Hat Society”. Betty was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Wilson (Michael); son, Tommy Denham (Sandy); grandchildren, Todd Triplett (Ashley), Kelly Williams (Brian), Will Denham; seven great grandchildren; two stepsons, Ricky Wallace and Mark Wallace; stepdaughter, Jenny Garrett; and sister, Freda Hampton Mason.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Wallace, brothers, Charles Horton and Sammy Horton.

The funeral service for Betty will be Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 1 p.m. at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bowles Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday, June 22, 2024, 4  until 8 p.m. and Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.
