The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced it will be offering walk-in customers on July 13 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
Usually an appointment is heavily encouraged for driver licensing services, which are offered at one of the multiple regional offices throughout the commonwealth — the closest to Glasgow is either in Bowling Green, Columbia or Elizabethtown.
Perhaps most importantly these regional offices allow Kentuckians to get their REAL ID, which allow users to “board U.S. flights or enter restricted federal facilities” and whose enforcement goes into effect Mar. 7, 2025.
Apart from going to a regional office the KYTC also has pop-up licensing events in Kentucky counties without an office. The next pop-up for Barren County is scheduled for Aug. 14 at the Lera B. Mitchell Clubhouse. The event’s registration will open July 31.
This Saturday walk-in opportunity does not extend to driving tests — either written or otherwise — offered by the Kentucky State Police.
