The identity of the Glasgow woman who died in a house fire this past weekend has been released.

Barren County Coroner Tim Gibson said that based on dental records the individual was identified as 41 year-old Heather Michelle Ferguson Berube. The autopsy and toxicology report have yet to be completed.

As previously reported, the fire occurred at 117 Hummingbird Lane on July 20 and resulted in a subsequent death investigation after Berube’s body was discovered around 7 a.m., according to Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Terry Flatt. An autopsy was then performed by the state medical examiner in Louisville, which Flatt said was standard procedure in an effort to rule out foul play.

Flatt said the police department investigation is still ongoing and provided no further details at this time. Glasgow Fire Department Assistant Chief Aaron Moulder said the cause of the fire remains under investigation and stated they were “releasing no more information at this time.”

On July 25 Glasgow Fire Chief William Rock wrote that the Kentucky state fire marshal had investigated the scene on July 22 and is currently waiting on the the written report.
