Glasgow business earns 2023 Governor’s Safety and Health Award

Glasgow company 3A Composites was among the 39 companies recognized during a Aug. 22 press conference by Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet Secretary Jamie Link for “excellence in workplace safety.”

According to the Kentucky Website, “provides special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance and encourages the development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses.” It further states that the award are given to businesses “who together have achieved the minimum required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness at their establishment. “All businesses within the bounds of Kentucky are eligible for this award and must be free of any “egregious” safety or health violations.

Collectively, the 39 companies logged more than 48.5 million consecutive hours without a workplace injury or illness “resulting in lost time through calendar year 2023.” Specifically 3A Composite reported 538,664 hours.

“Ensuring all Kentuckians have a safe and healthy workplace has been a top priority of [the governor’s] administration since day one, and I’m extremely proud to recognize all of you for your efforts in protecting hardworking Kentuckians while on the job,” Link said at the conference. “You have chosen to lead by example, and I hope that your success and recognition will inspire others to ramp up health and safety protections for workers throughout our commonwealth.”
