Intermediate driver’s license road test to begin in Barren County on Sept. 6

Roughly two weeks from now, on Sept. 6, Barren Countians will once again be able to undertake their road testing in Glasgow.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Weldon Park — located off Cleveland Avenue — is now an option when people make an appointment for their intermediate road testing. This testing option is available only by appointment, only available to Barren County residents and will be on the first and third Friday of each month.

This pilot program was first discussed by Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd during the Aug. 20 meeting of the Barren County Fiscal Court Administration and Budget Committee where the future potential of a regional licensing office in Barren County.

Before the Sept. 6 date those Barren Countians wanting to take the road test have to travel to a regional office. The nearest being Bowling Green — which, according to the KSP, offers road tests all day Monday through Friday.

The Weldon Park option is only for intermediate road test and is not available for other tests like the motorcycle road test, CDLs or written tests.
