One of the few Glasgow murder cases is in a “holding pattern” until a mental evaluation is completed by the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center.
Appearing via Zoom Dedontae Morrison — the Glasgow man indicted by a Barren County grand jury on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence after he was arrest on March 28 — came before Circuit Court Judge John Alexander accompanied by Commonwealth Attorney John Gardner and Defense Attorney Leah Hunter.
On May 29 it was discussed that a motion was filed for the KCPC to conduct a mental health evaluation based on some concerns Hunter had “based on…conversations” with Morrison.
Gardner said Morrison had yet to go the the facility, which is in Lagrange, Kentucky, and as a result all that was discussed at the Sept. 30 pretrial conference was the setting of another date.
Alexander set Morrison’s next appearance for Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. when hopefully they will have the report and can move forward with the case in one way or another.
