Once again, as is typical of the third Tuesday of every month, the Barren County Fiscal Court will convene at 9 a.m. to handle the business of this 500-square-mile county on the third floor of the Barren County Government Center. Among the usual official, department and committee reports is the approval and restatement of the amended agreement between the fiscal court of Barren County and that of Metcalfe County and the approval of the resolution “authorizing the issuance of the Corporation’s First Mortgage Revenue Bond Anticipation.”

According to documents provided by Barren County Fiscal Court Clerk Shanda Bradley, the amended agreement concerns the Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Communications Center that establishes “a consolidated public safety answering point” for the members. The full agreement, which is 12 pages, details the term of the agreement, each member’s contributions — of which Barren County’s is 81 percent while Metcalfe County is 19 percent — and its governing board make up.

The second document provided by Bradley is a bit more complicated. Essentially the resolution authorizes the Barren County Public Properties Corporation, a nonprofit public and governmental organization, to issue approximately $4,565,000 principal amount bond anticipation notes for the Judicial Center Project for the purposes of “fully refunding and retiring the outstanding amount” of the prior notes and provide “interim financing” for the project.
