Glasgow native Sarah Van Wallaghen has been named a partner with the lobbying organization the Rotunda Group, effective Jan. 1, 2025.
Van Wallaghen began her career at 16 working in broadcast journalism with Commonwealth Broadcasting before serving as the field director for the Republican National Committee in Ohio during the 2012 election and eventually in 2017 becoming the executive director of the Republican Party for Kentucky.
“Sarah’s leadership and vision have been instrumental to the success of our party,” said Senate President Robert Stivers. “She has been crucial to our pivotal achievements—electing a Republican Governor, a historic flip of the State House, and expanding our majorities in the legislature, all while preserving our strength in Congress. Her impact on Kentucky politics is undeniable and I’m confident she will continue to make a profound difference for the people of Kentucky.”
She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in broadcast journalism and political science and now resides in Louisville.
“It has been an honor to serve as the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Kentucky,” said Van Wallaghen. “I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m excited for this new chapter to advocate for Kentucky’s future in a different capacity. The Rotunda Group has an outstanding reputation for delivering results, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such a talented and respected team.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah as a Partner,” Kelley Abell, managing partner at the Rotunda Group, added. “Her exceptional talents, relationships, and strategic vision will be invaluable to our team and clients.”
