
Nancy Ann Poynter
Nancy Ann Poynter, age 62 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on Christmas day in 1961 to the late Billy Gene and Beulah Ann Jaggers VanMeter.
For many years, she shared her vibrant spirit and nurturing nature as the activities director for Morningside Assisted Living, where she touched the lives of countless residents. Her ability to create engaging and inclusive programs brought joy and laughter to those around her, showcasing her commitment to enhancing the lives of the elderly. Nancy also had a passion for crocheting. She transformed yarn into beautiful creations, skills that not only showcased her artistic talents but also provided comfort and warmth to loved ones. Her handmade gifts were cherished by friends and family, each stitch woven with love. Her faith in God was a significant part of her life, and she was a member of Cove Hollow United Baptist Church.
She leaves to honor her memory — her sons, Brad Poynter (Ashley) of Cave City and Patrick Poynter (Beth) of Park City; grandchildren, Hadley, Addyson and Graham Poynter; her siblings, Benita Green (David) and Paul VanMeter and nephew and nieces, Cameron Green (Brittany), Ariel Green, Amanda McGrew (John) and Kimberly VanMeter. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Lexie Makena Poynter.
Interment will be in Cove Hollow Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to: Cove Hollow Cemetery Fund, c/o Mike Saling.
Visitation is 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024 at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
