Parents of Barren County schools students are invited to fill out the 2025-26 school calendar survey.
“With the beginning of 2025 almost here, it is time to start thinking about the 2025-26 school calendar,” the social media post states. “We value your input, so the committee is looking for feedback from the community to guide their work.”
The survey asks four main questions: what time in August do you prefer school to start, if you’re in favor of more shorter breaks that would extend the year, if you’re in favor of a full two-week Christmas Break and if you’re in favor of two early release days for staff professional development?

The current 2024-2025 calendar has a closing day of May 23.
