Glasgow Electric Plant Board Board of Directors were of one mind regarding Dave Puskala’s continuation as the public utility company’s superintendent.

“I think it’s definitely our consensus that we’d love for [Puskala] to stay,” Chasity Lowery said at the Jan. 17 special-called meeting.

Puskala is roughly three-and-a-half years into his four year contract. The special-called meeting, which had the singular item of discussion of Puskala’s employment agreement, was convened after Danny Basil encouraged Puskala to think about his employment at the plant board and hopefully avoid any last-minute surprises since, as board attorney Ron Hampton noted, “you can hire a superintendent” with short notice.

Though some family medical concern caused some uncertainty, Puskala said he would like to see his employment continued.

“If the board is happy with me staying then I’d like to stay,” Puskala said. “I definitely would like to stay, it’s been a great experience for me and I think we’ve done a lot of good things since I’ve been here.”

Chairman Glenn Pritchard made the suggestion to form a two-person committee to discuss the employment agreement with Hampton, who would then speak to Puskala through Basil, before the full five-person board would vote on the agreement. Lowery and Robert Oliver were chosen unanimously to serve on the “contract committee.”

After the meeting, Pritchard said he hoped to put the contract up for a board vote by the summer. He mentioned that Puskala had a few changes he wanted made to the agreement with regards to a car allowance, additional vacation time and possibly a salary increase.
