William R. “Billy” Bybee, age 87, of Horse Cave, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. He was a native of Horse Cave, and an Elder at the Horse Cave Church of Christ. Bro. Billy ministered at the Shady Grove Church of Christ for 53 years, he was a faithful servant whose passion was serving the Lord. He was a small business owner and bookkeeper for many years. Billy also had a love for woodworking. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Lucille Bybee; two brothers, James Bybee (Jean), and Robert “Bobby” Bybee.
He is Survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice Sue Bybee; one son, Ken Bybee (Monica); one daughter, Temisha Denison (Bryan); three grandchildren; Dylan Vance (Phillip), Will Bybee (Lauren), and Braden Bybee; seven great-grandchildren, Rhealyn, Brentlee, Kade, Arial, Aliyah, Alexann, Tristan; sister-in-laws, Peggy Bybee, and Helen Edwards; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m., and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of the service at Winn Funeral Home.
