North Jackson Elementary recently won the District 30 Governor’s Cup, according to a social media post from the school and official results from the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition website. Highland Elementary took second in Quick Recall and Eastern Elementary finished second in Future Problem Solving.
In addition to winning the overall event, North Jackson captured first in Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving, and students finished first in the following individual events: Grayson Barrett, Science; Davis Cook, Social Studies; Malcolm Wessling, Language Arts; and Emily Jiang, Arts and Humanities.
Highland’s Liam Roemer won first in Mathematics and Eastern’s Lydia Perkins took first in Composition.
North Jackson students also placed in the following individual events: Malcolm Wessling, second in Math; Ethan Ross, second in Social Studies and third in Math; Addie Woodward, second, Language Arts; Cecilia Christie, second, Arts and Humanities; Henry Huddleston, fifth in Math and Social Studies; Davis Cook, fourth, Science; Charlotte Edwards, third, Arts and Humanities; and Aaliyah Huff, fourth in Composition.
Highland’s Ruby Wilson took second in Composition; Cayliana Fields, third, Composition; Trenton Catron, third, Science; Roman Francis, fourth in Math and Language Arts; Liam Roemer, third, Social Studies; Ruby Wilson, fourth, Social Studies; Jeremy Mayes, fifth, Language Arts; Addy Sherfey, fifth, Arts and Humanities; and Wyatt Neuhaus, fifth in Science.
Eastern’s Max Morrison finished second in Science; Lydia Perkins, third in Language Arts; and Lera Robertson took fourth in Arts and Humanities and fifth in Composition.
