A search continues for two individuals who managed to escape Barren County Sheriff’s deputies on Feb. 7, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

A sheriff’s deputy made contact with 42-year-old Aaron Wright and 42-year-old Melissa Netherton around the 2,000 block of Park City-Glasgow Road. Wright, who had an active bench warrant on a felony case, “took off running along with [Netherton].”

While attempting to take Wright into custody an altercation took place and both Wright and Netherton assaulted the deputy, according to the report. The deputy sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Both suspects were able to flee the scene.

“A search of the area continues and arrest warrants are being sought for both suspects,” the report states.

Residents in the area are encouraged to contact the department at 270-651-2771 or Glasgow Dispatch at 270-651-5151 if necessary.

Barren County Sheriff’ Office Public Information Officer Mike Houchens said there is no danger to the public.
