Motorists are urged to use caution and lookout for District 3 snow & ice response vehicles on the road performing anti-icing operations. A possible winter weather system is expected to move into the District 3 area Tuesday night through Thursday. Please give snow & ice response vehicles plenty of space.
The U.S. National Weather Service Louisville has placed all District 3 counties under a Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday night. As of Monday morning, the forecast is predicting three to five inches of snow to hit the area. The snow is expected to create hazardous driving conditions Tuesday evening with the heavier snow coming in early Wednesday morning.
The District 3 snow & ice team is monitoring the forecast and will determine a response strategy as the winter weather system draws closer. Crews are still dealing with flooded roads following a heavy rain weather system that dumped five to six inches of rain in some areas.
For road conditions please visit GoKY.ky.gov. Snow & ice information such as priority routes can be found at snowky.ky.gov.
The District 3 area serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, and Warren counties.
