At the Feb. 25 soccer cooperative board of directors meeting, it was announced that the cooperative had received $250,000 to install four lights at the third soccer field off Cleveland Avenue.
Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said the project also includes paving for parking in front and, potentially, includes moving the entrance to align with Donnelley Drive.
She also said work would not begin until the matching grant came in, which would cover most, if not all, of the project’s $500,000 price tag.
“We’re not in a major hurry to start the program, but I’m excited we got this,” Byrd said.
