11 Barren County teachers named district ‘Teachers of the Year’

The Barren County School District recognized 11 teachers, who have “demonstrated excellence in their classrooms, going above and beyond to inspire and support students,” as its 2024-25 teachers of the year.

2024-25 Barren County Teachers of the Year:
• Amanda Meadows – Elementary Teacher of the Year, Eastern Elementary
• Katie Jo Earls – Middle School Teacher of the Year, Barren County Middle School
• Sarah Vetter – Visual & Performing Arts Teacher of the Year, Barren County Middle School
• John Bradshaw – Exceptional Education Teacher of the Year, Eastern Elementary
• Alison Prichard – Literacy Teacher of the Year, Trojan Academy
• Logan Brooks – Diversity Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
• Amanda Wright – High School Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
• Andy Joe Moore – Innovative Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
• Whitney Curd – Teacher Mentor of the Year, Teacher Mentor of the Year
• Nick Compton – Physical Education/Health Teacher of the Year, Barren County High School
• Erica Shaw – Preschool Teacher of the Year, Red Cross Elementary

“Our Teachers of the Year exemplify the dedication and passion that make Barren County Schools a great place to learn,” Superintendent Amy Irwin said in a press release. “We are grateful for their hard work and the positive impact they, along with all of our educators, make every day.”

Each teacher will also have their application submitted to Western Kentucky University to compete “for further recognition among top educators across the region,” the press release states.
