Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that an investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control resulted in the indictment of five individuals in Jefferson Circuit Court. They were arraigned Monday.
On Feb. 27, 2025, a Jefferson County Grand Jury indicted Vendetta Anderson, Keshia Payton, Tiffany Trumbo, Charese Williams, and Charles Williams on one count of Devising or Engaging in a Scheme to Defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) valued at $1000 or more (Class D Felony). Additionally, Keshia Payton, Tiffany Trumbo, and Charese Williams were indicted on a second count of the same charge.
The defendants’ next court appearance is April 23, 2025.
Detective Jerry Thornsberry of the Attorney General’s Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control investigated the case after receiving a complaint regarding possible fraud. Assistant Attorney General Emily Reed Campbell along with Detective Thornsberry presented the case before the Jefferson County Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.
