In a brief Barren County Circuit Court appearance Monday, Mark Hanks entered into a not guilty plea.
Hanks, 26, was arrested in January by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office on charges of fist-degree rape and sodomy. In district court, Judge Gabe Pendleton forwarded his case to a grand jury, which indicted Hanks on Feb. 26. Barren County Sheriff’s detective Joseph Ford testified before the grand jury, according to the indictment.
Hanks’ attorney entered a not guilty plea for Hanks, who appeared via Zoom, on Monday, March 10.
His bond is set at $100,000 cash and his next court appearance will be on April 21 at 1 p.m.
