Forty-four-year-old Bobby Wayne Johnson was indicted in the most recent batch of Barren County indictments for 14 offenses.
Johnson was arrested in February after Kentucky State Police troopers attempted to stop him on Ky. 90 for not having “a visible registration plate” on his vehicle. Originally, Johnson was charged with 17 offenses including attempted murder of a police officer since, during the brief pursuit, he attempted to ram with his vehicle one of the state police cruisers involved in the pursuit.
The Barren County grand jury charged him with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, fleeing or evading police, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, one count of “operating a…vehicle while his license is revoked for driving under the influence,” one count of operating a vehicle while under the influence, one count of resisting arrest, one count of buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain required insurance (first-offense), no or expired registration plates and persistent felony offender.
Johnson has a $20,000 cash bond in this case and his next court date is set for May 12 at 10 a.m., according to the Barren County Detention Center.
