PRESS RELEASE
Kentucky State Police and the University of Louisville are partnering to award two elementary or middle school basketball teams a chance to attend a women’s Cardinals game.
Teams can enter the giveaway by submitting their team photograph to KSP, which will place it on the agency’s Facebook page. The two school teams that receive the most likes and shares combined earn tickets to either the U of L against University of North Carolina game on Feb. 5, 2023, or U of L against Clemson on Feb. 12, 2023. The winning teams will also receive a meet and greet with the KSP mascot Justice.
The giveaway is part of the agency’s mission to develop and fortify community partnerships. KSP Public Affairs Commander Paul Blanton says the contest is a win for everyone.
“KSP and the University of Louisville value our youngest Kentuckians, and it’s important for us to provide a positive experience that will last for many years to come,” Blanton said. “Our partnerships with schools and colleges strengthens our footprint in local communities and creates opportunities to impact youth in an encouraging way.”
University of Louisville Women’s Basketball Coach Jeff Walz says his team is excited to welcome young athletes to the games.
“We are extremely thankful for our partnership with the Kentucky State Police and the opportunity they are giving these young athletes to attend one of our games,” Walz said. “We have an incredible group of young women on our team and hope they can become role models that these elementary and middle school students can look up to.”
To enter, participants must submit a photo of their team showing their school spirit via email to kspsocialmedia@ky.gov. Participants must include a description of why the team loves basketball and contact information (phone and/or email) for the coach or school. Participants must submit their photos by 5 p.m. EST Jan. 29.
The first-place finishing team will be able to select which of the two U of L Women’s Basketball games the team wants to attend. The second-place finishing team will receive tickets for the remaining game.
By submitting a photo, participants must confirm they have read and agree to our Terms and Conditions and that their children’s profile will be available to view online. All submissions for entries to the KSP-UofL Women’s Basketball Ticket Giveaway must be made by the parent/guardian or coach (over 18 years of age) of that team to allow reproduction of the image on KSP social media.
