Glasgow rallied to lead Butler County, 6-3, in the fourth inning, but fell short of the win, 7-6, on the road.
The Lady Scotties fell behind 3-0 through the first three innings in Morgantown, but put together one of their best innings of the season at the plate in the top of the fourth.
The rally started after one out. Sydney Kuykendall hit a line drive that was misplayed and that allowed her to reach first safely. She moved to second on a passed ball during Kenleigh Bale’s at-bat. Bale eventually reached base on an error that allowed Kuykendall to move to third. Kuykendall stole home and Glass stole second before Janna Glass moved Bale to third on a sacrifice play.
Gracie Walker followed with a triple that drove in Bale. Shallen Fields drove in Walker with a single. Kerigan Hagan followed a drew a walk. Paige de Haas drove in Fields with a single, and Hagan moved to third.
Jakylie Green drove in Hagan and de Haas with a double, but she was thrown out going to third.
The damage was done as Glasgow took a 6-3 lead into the bottom of the fourth. Butler County posted three runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 6-all.
The Lady Bears took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth inning thanks to a walk and a pair of errors.
Hagan pitched the distance in the circle. She struck out seven and allowed nine hits.
At the plate, de Haas led with three hits, while Walker had two. Fields, Hagan, and Green each posted one hit.
