An El Paso, Texas, man is charged in Barren County with third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender.
Chris Mark Stanley is charged with one count of third-degree trafficking in more than 120 dosage units of Alprazolam (first offense) and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender. He was indicted by a Barren County grand jury in February 2025, according to court records, and had a $5,000 cash bond. He has not been jailed in Barren County, nor does he have a Barren County court appearance scheduled.
His indictment in February was sealed, but his name was revealed during Hunter Vann’s guilty plea in Simpson County on Monday, May 5. Vann was recommended for three years probation as part of his cooperation with the case against Stanley, according to Kentucky Assistant Attorney General Rosa Ramsey Dallam.
“The commonwealth will recommend probation for a period of 3 years [with] the other conditions [being] not to commit new offenses and testify truthfully at any and all proceedings relating to the other individual that’s named in the plea agreement,” said special judge Mark Thurmond.
Ramsey Dallam said May 5 there was an additional agreement, which had already been fulfilled, that Vann would provide “a full and honest statement to law enforcement regarding his role in this offense and on offenses committed by Chris Stanley.”
